BOARD OF DIRECTORS:

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

If you did not attend the May 25, 2002 celebration at the pool, you missed a great time and great food. Jimmy Gabriel and Richard Rabe cooked some wonderful hot dogs and hamburgers. If you were not able to make it, you will have another chance at the July 4th celebration, come join us for food, fun and games. Please wear your pool tags, and remember you and your guests (each and everyone) must all sign in, please fill in all the information as requested on the sign-in sheets.

We still have residents that are not submitting ACC forms before roofing, painting and changing the outside of their homes. You can get a form from the AVR Management, please give yourself enough time to submit the form before starting the work.

The NUSA Conference, The Fondren Southwest Tour and the Dinner at Northfield III Clubhouse were all a great success. Houston hosted the largest conference in the 27-year history of the organization. The Bus Tour was great (40 guests) and there were over 90 people attending the dinner. The Explorers from the Fondren Division of HPD put on a great demonstration at the Clubhouse for us.

May 21, 2002 the Fondren Storefront Citizen Advisory Council hosted a retirement party for Captain Charles Bullock at Chancellor’s. Over 100 guests attended as well as members of his family. Chief C. O. Bradford, Council Member Mark Goldberg, ex-Council Member Martha Wong and many others distinguished guest attended. June 4, 2002 the evening shift, of the Fondren Division, hosted another party for the Captain and Judge Sam Nuccia was in attendance. Sam Nuccia before becoming Chief of Police served under Captain Bullock. June 7, 2002 the day shift, of the Fondren Division, hosted another large party for the Captain. Many, many more of his friends and family attended this celebration. Captain Bullock served the police department for 43 years. Captain Bullock had his hand on the pulse of the community. He listened to the citizens. He will be greatly missed.

National Night Out will be held again this year on August 6th, please plan on getting a few of your neighbors together and get to know each other.

We are getting a lot of calls about heavy trash pick up, Wednesday and Saturday are both trash pick up days, however make sure if you trim your trees that you cut the branches into 4 ft. lengths and have them bundled or they will not be picked up.

Please plan on attending the October 29, 2002 Annual Homeowners Meeting. If anyone would like to serve on the Braeburn Valley Homeowners Board, please call AVR Management and leave your name and phone number. We would be happy to put your name on the list.

Have a fun summer at the pool. And put out your flags for the 4th of July.

Ruth Hurst

POOL NEWS

I would like to thank all of the neighbors who attended the Memorial Day opening the pool. The 4th of July plans to be a big splash as well as food and fun for all. Hope to see you there, lunch will start around 11 a.m.

When visiting the pool, please remember to bring your Braeburn Valley Pool Tag! Your pool tag allows entry to the pool area. If you don’t have a pool tag, please contact AVR Management at (281) 481-8062 to obtain one. There is only 1 pool tag per household. Each household is allowed to bring two (2) guests per pool visit. We also ask all pool members to please sign-in completely upon arrival and make sure that your guests sign-in completely as well.

Please be advised that we have a new age limit for unaccompanied children at the pool. The new minimum age for unaccompanied children is twelve (12). The Board of Directors decided to change this for liability reasons.

This is a reminder to all BV residents that the pool hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. If you are planning to have a pool party, you can pick up the form from Director Jimmy Gabriel or call him at (713) 774-7796.

Thank you!

BEAUTIFICATION

Happy to report we should have new plants around the BV signs soon.

I would also like to remind all the residents with islands in the cul-de-sac that these are your responsibility. Please keep them mowed, edged, pruned or whatever to keep them looking nice.

Thank you!!!

SECURITY

It is now Summer, the kids are out of school, families go on vacation and the burglars go shopping in your homes. Before going on vacation, please let a couple of your neighbors know so that they can pick up your mail and newspapers. Newspapers in front yards/on front doorsteps and mail left in the mailbox are criminal calling cards. You should also notify Security Sure that you will be gone and ask them to do a house watch for you. This is a great service that Security Sure provides for Braeburn Valley residents.

Please do not forget to report any suspicious persons, cars or activities to HPD at (713) 222-3131 and to Security Sure at (713) 778-1233. We can not keep our neighborhood safe without the eyes and ears of our neighbors reporting to the authorities.

BABYSITTER !!
